Snakes and Ladders
Of course, all this would be in vain if it didn’t have a lasting impact. There is the need to walk it out, as the phrase goes. In other words, there is a certain amount of determination needed to keep what has been received – not that we should fear suddenly losing it all for reasons beyond our control. But our enemy does want to try and get us back to where we started, or at least trick us into believing we are back there.
When there is a lot of inner healing to be done, as there has been in my case, then it can go a bit like a game of snakes and ladders. There a times when an enormous change seems to happen all at once, yet there are other times when all the old problems come back with a vengeance, and it feels like you’ve lost it all. Of course, if that really happens, then getting back is not that difficult, as the prayers that have been prayed before can be prayed again, and God is no less willing to forgive than the first time.
